The Gear Fund is sponsored by Youth and Teen Recreation Services, California Park and Recreation Society District IV.

Thanks to YTRS, funds are available in the Gear Fund to support participants in recreation programs within District IV.

What Is The Gear Fund?

The Gear Fund is a program sponsored by Youth and Teen Recreation Services, a committee on the CPRS District IV Board. The Gear Fund is set up to provide financial assistance for recreation program participants in need of appropriate footwear and gear in order to take part in a recreation program. Bay area recreation staff may send in an application for a participant for whom they feel could benefit from The Gear Fund.

Who is Eligible?

• Recipients must live within CPRS District IV boundaries (San Francisco to Gilroy).
• Recipients must be under 18 years of age.
• Recipients must show financial need either through the agency's fee waiver program, or through the sponsor statement on the application.
